New 24" LCD Resolution Options
AbraxSys Now Offering its Popular 24” LCD Product
Line with either 1080P Resolution or 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) Resolution
AbraxSys announced today that its 24” rugged product line is now
available with either 1920 x 1080 (1080P) true high- definition resolution or 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) format. These 24"
models meet a growing demand for high resolution 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio displays.
The FHD or Full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels in a 16:9 aspect
ratio and was developed as an HDTV transmission and storage format. Using interlacing, the bandwidth requirements
are very similar to those of 720p – their pixel counts are roughly in a 2:1 ratio, 9:4 exactly. FHD is 3 times the
width and 2 1⁄4 times the height of 4:3 VGA. Due to its origins, this resolution is sometimes referred to as 1080i
wherein the “I” stands for "interlaced". Since there are also progressive signals with the same frame rate (but
half the effective field rate) those signals are more commonly called 1080p.
WUXGA stands for Widescreen Ultra Extended Graphics Array and is a
display resolution of 1920x1200 pixels (2,304,000 pixels) with a 16:10 screen aspect ratio. It is a wide version of
UXGA, and can be used for viewing high-definition television (HDTV) content, which uses a 16:9 aspect ratio and a
1920x1080 resolution, the UXGA standard (1600x1200). The 16:10 aspect ratio (as opposed to the 16:9 used in
widescreen televisions) was chosen because this aspect ratio is appropriate for displaying two full pages of text
side by side. WUXGA resolution is 2.304 megapixels. An uncompressed 8-bit RGB WUXGA image has a size of ~6.6 MB
(6750 × 210 bytes).
This newly released series offers such features as extended operational temperature ranges, true industrial
grade TFT panels, a multitude selection of inputs including VGA, DVI, S-Video and Composite, and a host of possible
configurations; including standard brightness levels, 300 nits or 500 nits, as well as a 1000 nits sunlight
readable option. This hi- def LCD monitor series is designed to operate in harsh areas and even in
direct bright sunlight, or in other high ambient light conditions. This results in amazingly bright,
crystal-clear HD images, even with direct, bright sunlight on the face of the screen. This sunlight readable
monitor is ideal for use in a wide range of industrial, law enforcement, aviation, marine, military,
inspection, advertising and transportation applications where viewability in direct bright sunlight is
crucial.

The front bezel is constructed of high-grade stainless steel and is
very well gasket sealed to protect against driving rain or hose-directed water pressure. The rugged rear
enclosure is fabricated of 6061 Grade Aluminum which has been Zinc- Chromate Dipped and then treated with Corrosion
Resistant Thermoset UV-stable Black Powder-Coating. AbraxSys has added a versatile Analog-Digital interface
board, backlight inverter and OSD controls. All elements, including a toughened glass protective screen have been
packaged in a compact, rugged housing. The result is a flexible Display Head, ready for integration as
part of any system; as an analog monitor, or a touchscreen driven human-machine interface.
